I booked a group of 8 of us into two boats late November, which everyone was excited about but nobody realised quite how awesome it was going to be until we got there and they too saw the boats in real life!
On arrival we were met by friendly hosts who gave us a full briefing, shared the route we could navigate, and took our drinks order to prepare while we got organised. We got in the warm "horse box" to get dressed, stored our stuff securely, and made our way down to the pontoon to get in!
The hot tub boats are a lovely 38 degrees, continually kept warm by the lovely smelling wood fire, with sparkling clear water which is replaced for each trip! The drinks (beer pitchers, and soft drinks for the designated captains) were delivered, with a quick overview of how to drive the boats - which have lovely quiet electric motors, and we were off a few minutes later!
The route is simple (with a route card provided, as well as safety kit in the boat), taking in some of the Canary Wharf sites - and expect to have people shouting from the banks how amazing what you're doing is!
All in all, a fantastic experience! The staff were excellent, the instructions clear, the boats suitably warm and clean, and we didn't feel ripped off with the drinks either which is a welcome change in central London!
We were so warm the whole time, the water temperature was perfect for the very cold December evening. I highly recommended to anyone, it was so very relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you Skuna Team London.
