The Thames RIB is a great way to see the sights. The trips from the Millennium Pier are more about speed - being close to Tower Bridge the boat can get up to high speed quickly and it really is a blast.
Lots of fun.
We booked the 40minute blast experience last Wednesday (24th aug) for 2 adults and 5 children, it was the last RIB trip of the day and we were all very excited! We arrived at the pier for our time slot and were met by two ladies that were friendly and helped all our children and two other passengers and there two children into life jackets and boarded the RIB. Unfortunately within 10/15 minutes we were informed that the engine was over heating so we had to cut our experience short and go back to the pier.
At NO POINT did we think that we or our children were in any kind of danger, we simply returned (slowly) back up the Thames! The kids were obviously sad that the trip wasn’t what they’d expected so we asked for a refund which was originally offered as a voucher but after speaking with a manager we were given a refund plus a voucher for next time! Unfortunately the other passengers on the boat were very irate at the situation and repeatedly said how dangerous the boat was and that they’d been put in danger and this simply wasn’t the case (they’ve left a review which is why I felt the need to write one) We just saw it as a situation that was out of the crews control and was dealt with well.
For that reason and the communication with Tina at the Thames RIB experience we would not hesitate to use them again!!
